1,261,121. Shuttleless looms. OFFICINE GALILEO S.p.A. 10 Sept., 1969 [14 Sept., 1968], No. 44757/69. Heading D1E. In a shuttleless loom a weft yarn 18 at the end of its insertion is held against an abutment 7B by a retaining yarn 10A which is moved under tension against the abutment by a cam operated lever 5B, the yarn 10A being moved away from the abutment after beat-up. The abutment 7B may be stationary but is preferably formed by the recessed end of a lever 7 moved towards and away from the weft yarn 18 by a cam 3. The yarn 10, e.g. of nylon, extends from bobbin 12A around a roller 14 to a bobbin 12B and is wound slowly from one bobbin to the other, either continuously or stepwise, to avoid uneven wear at the portion contacting the abutment 7. The cut ends of the weft are held by a suction box (22) Fig. 4 (not shown). |
