Spray drying of acetylcellulose solution in acetone and - quantitative recovery of product and pure solvent

Acetylcellulose solution is processed by passage through spray drier connected with condenser. Acetone vaporises and is condensed and recovered after removing fine acetylcellulose powder from gas in cyclone. Original solution gen. has 0.5-200 g/l acetylcellulose content. Advantages are that acetone can be recovered almost quantitatively and in high purity without high capital expenditure on equipment.
