PURPOSE:To provide an ink composed of an oil-soluble metal complex salt dye, a specific water-soluble organic solvent and water, providing a recorded image free from blotting and having excellent water-resistance and density uniformity and suitable for ink-jet recording. CONSTITUTION:The ink is composed of at least (A) an oil-soluble metal complex salt dye (e.g. C.I. Solvent Yellow 19, C.I. Solvent Yellow 21 and C.I. Solvent Red 8), (B) preferably 1-30wt.% (based on the ink) of a water-soluble organic solvent (e.g. 2-methoxyethanol and 2-ethoxyethanol) containing 50-100wt.% of component having a boiling point of <=280 deg.C under 760Torr and (C) water. Preferably, the contact angle between the ink and paper is 50-130 deg. in the case of recording on paper by flying the droplets of the ink, the flying speed of the ink is >=2m/sec and the weight of the ink is 0.01-0.3mug per one droplet. |
