PURPOSE:To provide an antithrombotic material to be used as medical materials, clinical test materials, or the like by grafting a specific hydrophilic monomer onto the surface of a polymer having a halogen atom or an alkyl halide group. CONSTITUTION:A monomer having a phospholipid polar group is grafted onto a polymer having a halogen atom or an alkyl halide group. Specifically, a basic polymer having a halogen atom or an alkyl halide group (e.g. polyvinyl chloride) is treated with a hydrosulfide (e.g. sodium hydrosulfide) to replace the halogen atom of the basic polymer with a mercapto group. Then the basic polymer with the mercapto group is grafted onto a monomer having a phospholipid polar group (e.g. 2-methacryloyloxyethylphospholylcholine) by free-radical polymerization via the mercapto group. The amount of the phospholipid polar group-containing monomer is normally 5-60mol% relative to the amount of the basic polymer. |
