PURPOSE:To manufacture a scroll part with high accuracy by rotating a work equipped with a spiral lap where the principal sections of the inner wall face and the outer wall face are an involute shape, and putting a rotary tool on an orthogonal coordinate and shifting it in about the same direction. CONSTITUTION:To begin with, the outer wall 3a which forms a lap 3 is worked by shifting a rotary tool 2 in x direction toward the outset of spiral 3d from the end 3c of spiral of an involute on the tangent of the basic circle 4 of the involute synchronously with the clockwise rotation of the work 1. Next, after working of the outer wall 3a, the rotary tool 2 is shifted onto the tangent, and the inner wall 3b, which forms a lap, is worked by shifting the rotary tool 2 in the same direction as the case of having worked the outer wall 3a toward end 3c of spiral of the involute, synchronously with the rotation of the work 1 without changing the direction of the rotation of the work 1. Hereby, highly accurate working can be made irrespective of the dislocation of the rotary tool 2.
