The subject matter of this Specification is substantially identical with that of Specification 1, 192, 231 but the claims relate to a system in which the dry weights of a plurality of zones across the width of a sheet of fibrous material, formed from a layer of fibrous slurry emerging from a' headbox, are maintained in a predetermined distribution by automatically controlling the slurry emerging from the headbox in dependence on measurements of the dry weights.
