LOCK BOX MOUNTING ASSEMBLY

A lock box mounting assembly (10) for removably mounting a lock box (12) to the hinge-edge of a door (26) includes a U-shaped bracket (30) formed for placement between the door (26) and the door jamb (28). The U-shaped bracket (30) has an outer leg portion (32), an inner leg portion (34), and a central portion (36) formed to extend through a reveal space between the hinge-edge of the door (26) and the door jamb (28) when the door is in a closed position. The inner leg portion (34) preferably includes at least one hinge-receiving slot (52a,52b) dimensioned to receive a door hinge (58) for vertically supporting the U-shaped bracket (30) on a door hinge (58).
