A method and a device for attacking armoured dugouts, in particular in the physical form of shelters (11) on airfields, is intended to be designed to produce lasting disturbance of the operational capability of the shelter (11) and of the equipments accommodated in it at an acceptable technical cost and with the submunition dimensions being limited. To this end, it is provided for the submunition (23) to be dropped, for example, by means of a parachute (24) over the apron (18) and for its weapon section (30) to be equipped with a warhead (28), which acts horizontally, for example, and with a sensor device (44) which scans the environment for a typical contour of a shelter door region (16) or of a shelter sliding door (17). If such an object is detected, the warhead (28) is detonated in order, to damage, for example, at the least the structure of the supports (19) on the door (17), or even to penetrate the door (17) with a lining (51) which forms a projectile. <IMAGE>
