<p>A device for mounting and driving a tubular spindle (10), including first and second axial-flux radial active magnetic bearings (60, 70) arranged at first and second ends of the tube (10) respectively. Each of the radial active magnetic bearings (60, 70) between which an electric motor (80) is arranged includes a magnetic stator circuit consisting of two sub-assemblies (61, 62, 71, 72) of four connected slot-free axial-flux elements distributed about the tube (10). A means is also provided for causing a reduction of a few hundred to a few thousand pascals in the pressure within the spindle at the air gap of the radial magnetic bearings (60, 70) and the electric motor (80).</p> |
