PURPOSE:To pass through a corner at a proper car speed as continuing an auto cruise. CONSTITUTION:When a corner is detected frontwards in a traveling course by navigator during constant speed traveling at a setting car speed Vi by an auto cruise unit, a targt car speed Vs or maximum speed capable of accurately passing through the corner is operated. In the case where the current car speed is more than the target car speed Vs and deceleration is required (step S17), automatic deceleration to pass through the corner takes place (step S18). When no deceleration is required, a deviation DELTAV between such one as having selected the setting car speed Vi and the target car speed Vs low and the current car speed V0 is operated (steps S19 and S20), and when this deviation DELTAV is smaller than the threshold value, speed maintenance is carried out (steps S21 and S22), while if the deviation DELTAV is larger than the threshold value, automatic acceleration is performed (steps S21 and S23). |
