DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING APPARATUS

摘要

PURPOSE:To facilitate the starting of the discharge lamp by allowing a switching element to conduct in response to change in the voltage of the lighting circuit before the lighting of the discharge lamp so that the voltage across a lighting element can be set and controlled below the operating voltage thereof following the starting of the discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:A discharge lamp 3 is connected to an AC power source through a stabilizer element 2 while a lighting device 4 made up of a series circuit having a lighting element 4a and a switching element 4b is connected in parallel to the discharge lamp 3. The switching element 4b is allowed to conduct in response to voltage of the lighting circuit before the lighting of the discharge lamp 3 so that the voltage across a lighting element 4a is set and controlled below the operating voltage thereof following the starting of the discharge lamp.
