PURPOSE:To inhibit developing raised rinds on citrus fruits. CONSTITUTION:The raised rind inhibitor contains, as active ingredients, calcium formate and a water-soluble boron compound. This inhibitor is applied on the leaves of citrus fruits. The calcium and boron absorbed into the fruit trees make the physiological activity of the fruit trees and the fruits better along with reinforcing their cell membranes. In the fruits, the cell membranes of the cells constituting the rinds, forming robust rinds. Therefore, even if such rinds absorb water in rainfall, etc., during the period of the fruits' maturity, the robust rinds are adequately proof against the resultant expansive pressure. Thus, despite water absorption, such rind expansion as to result in developing raised rinds does not occur; therefore, effectively inhibiting raised rinds. |
