<p>The method consists in attributing (1) Reed-Solomon error detector/corrector codes to each information symbol to be transmitted on the network, in performing (2) a diagonal interlacing of the Reed-Solomon coded information before they are transmitted in packets on the network, and, on reception, performing a diagonal de-interlacing (9) of the information contained in the packets in order to correct (10) the errors and the erasures in the symbols reproduced by means of the Reed-Solomon codes accompanying the reproduced symbols.
