<p>PURPOSE:To provide a single chip microcomputer or semiconductor integrated circuit device including an input device such as an A/D converter capable of automatically detecting whether its input is in a prescribed range or not and allowing a CPU to detect its detected result without reading out the contents of a data register and improving overall processing efficiency. CONSTITUTION:An input device such as an A/D converter included in a single chip microcomputer has a register for setting up a prescribed value and is constituted so as to compare the contents of the register with an input value or the converted result of the input value, change the status of a flag means based upon the compared result and supply an interruption signal to a CPU in accordance with the status of the flag means. The CPU detects whether the input value is included in a prescribed range or not by interruption without reading the contents of the data register included in the input device.</p> |
