PURPOSE:To control a synchronous motor at a high power factor and high efficiency without causing any torque pulsation. CONSTITUTION:A computing element 5 calculates the target values of armature currents corresponding to each phase of windings 21-2n of a synchronous motor as an amount which is inversely proportional to the sum of squares of the instantaneous values e01-e0n of induced voltages in all phases, an amount which is proportional to the instantaneous values e1-e0n of induced voltages in each phase, and an amount which is proportional to the value obtained by subtracting a prescribed value corresponding to the position of magnetic pole from a target torque value and current adjusters 61-6n control actual armature current values obtained through a current transformer so that the current values can become coincident with the output values of the computing element 5. |
