PURPOSE:To alleviate a burden of a compressor by suppressing an indoor heat exchanging temperature at the time of an overload and suppressing an excess rise of refrigerant in a controller for an air conditioner using an electronic expansion valve. CONSTITUTION:Refrigerant is circulated between a compressor (outdoor unit side) and an indoor heat exchanger through an electronic expansion valve. An indoor heat exchanging temperature is detected by a detector 1, the detected temperature is stored in a first memory 2, and a difference between the detected temperature and a predetermined value stored in a second memory 3 (criterion of an overload: temperature value) is calculated by a temperature difference calculator 4. A timing change rate of the indoor heat exchanging temperature is calculated based on the indoor heat exchanging temperature presently detected at a timing change rate of the indoor heat exchanging temperature and the exchanging temperature stored in the memory 2, and the calculated temperature difference and the change rate are input to a controller 6. The controller 6 performs fuzzy calculation of a control amount of the valve according to a predetermined control rule and a membership function based on the input temperature difference and the change rate.
