PURPOSE:To improve display function by providing a specific matrix circuit on the same substrate as an organic field emission element. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 2 consisting of metal such as gold, silver, etc., or conductive high polymer,etc., is provided on a substrate 1 of quartz, glass plate, etc., and a hole transfer layer 3 made of aromatic amine compound, hydrazone compound, etc., is provided thereon. Aromatic compound, metal complex, or naphthylidine dielectric, etc., is used for an emission layer 4. A metal of low work function is preferred for a negative electrode 5 for injecting electron into the layer 4 so as to effectively inject electron, and metal such as tin, magnesium, indium, or alloy of these is used. An active matrix circuit for driving this element is provided on this organic field emission element, so as to form an emission panel covered with an insulating layer. Excellent display function can thus be achieved. |
