An egg breaking-open machine consists of an egg-receiving station, in which the individual eggs are positioned in parallel rows, a transfer station, in which the positioned eggs are transferred individually and parallel to an assigned revolving drum, an egg sucking-in station, in which the eggs are transferred from the revolving drum to the receiving station and sucked in, an egg-positioning station, in which the eggs firmly held on the first drum by suction are grasped by opposite receiving devices arranged on a second drum revolving in step with and in the opposite direction to the first drum and firmly held by suction, an egg breaking-open station with separating knives, in which the shell of the eggs is cut through counter to the running direction thereof, an egg-discharging station, in which the separated eggs are torn apart into two halves and egg white and yolk flow off freely, and in which an air blowing-out device is provided, and an egg-separating device, in which egg white and yolk are discharged in a manner separated from one another.
