The invention relates to a stand for receiving coin-operated gaming machines, such as is used for slot machines or the like which can be operated by means of payment. The object on which the invention is based was to design a stand in such a way that the height positioning of the coin-operated gaming machines can be adapted by simple means as a function of the individual requirements. This object is achieved, according to the invention, in that means for varying the height positioning are provided on this stand, so that the coin-operated gaming machine can be operated by the player in a standing or sitting position. A first design alternative is characterised in that at least two first receiving devices arranged at different heights are provided as means for varying the height positioning. In a second alternative, there is provided as means for a continuous variation of the height positioning a second receiving device which is connected to a counterweight via at least one rope pull, a chain or the like and at least one pulley mounting. At the same time, there is arranged on the stand at least one guide rail, in which the second receiving device is movably mounted.
