The invention relates to a device 1 for receiving and retaining round or angular objects frequently encountered in the household or office, such as writing instruments, drill bits or toothbrushes. The holding devices which have been disclosed for this purpose all have the disadvantage that they are intended for particular dimensions only, thereby providing a secure hold for this one size only. In the invention, the problem is eliminated by the presence of a support plate 4, on which at least two clamping jaws 2, 3, which can be displaced relative to and independently of one another, are mounted under spring pretension in a guide. As a result of the clamping jaws 2, 3 under spring pretension, the size of the object is no longer important, within a predetermined range, because, as a result of the object being clamped in the clamping jaws 2, 3 which slide apart and back, on the one hand a secure hold is made possible and on the other hand the same device 1 can be used for different-sized objects. <IMAGE> |
