The invention relates to a vehicle seat, in particular aeroplane seat, with a front cross strut (3), running in the seat transverse direction, a rear cross strut (4), arranged parallel to the latter, the two cross struts being fixedly connected to the upper end of at least two feet, and with seat dividers supported by the cross struts (3, 4). In this type of seat the rear cross strut (4) is also designed as a profiled tube with longitudinal grooves (10, 11) in which connecting means engage for the purpose of producing a connection to the seat dividers and the rear feet. The longitudinal groove (8) of the front cross strut (3), which groove is provided for the connection to the seat dividers, is open towards the rear cross strut (4), has flanks (8') running parallel to each other and accommodates a front end portion (5') of the seat dividers (5) in a manner which allows it to be displaced in the direction of the depth of the groove. <IMAGE>
