PURPOSE:To obtain an oligonucleotide capable of readily, rapidly and specifically detecting human herpesvirus 7 with a high sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:This oligonucleotide for detecting human herpesvirus 7 has nucleic acid sequences expressed by sequence Nos. I to VI of a sequence table [A denotes adenine; C denotes cytosine; G denotes guanine; T denotes thymine; T at an optional position may be substituted with uracil (U)] or complementary sequences thereof. This method for detecting the human herpesvirus 7 in a sample is to cross a labeled nucleic acid probe obtained by labeling the oligonucleotide with a DNA or RNA in the sample and measure the label of a crossed combination or cross a nucleic acid primer which is the oligonucleotide or a labeled nucleic acid primer prepared by labeling the oligonucleotide with the DNA or RNA in the sample, elongate a primer and measure the elongated primer. Furthermore, a reagent kit containing the labeled nucleic acid probe, nucleic acid primer or labeled nucleic acid primer is used therefor. |
