<p>PURPOSE:To provide a civil engineering material made of pottery having excel lent durability and lightness in weight and having water permeability and water retaining property. CONSTITUTION:This civil engineering material made of the pottery consists of a combination of granular aggregate 2 formed by crushing previously fired pottery and pumice-like pottery 4 having numerous small holes 3 over the entire part. Many pieces of the aggregate 2 are integrated via the pumice-like pottery bodies 4. The civil engineering material made of the pottery is produced by the process consisting of a stage for adding water to a mixture composed of at least three; the aggregate 2 described above, base body for pottery and a powdery or granular combustible material which is burned away at a temp. below the firing temp. of the pottery and kneading this mixture, a stage for molding the raw material kneaded in this stage to a desired form and a stage for firing the molding formed in the previous stage at the temp. higher than the firing temp. of the pottery.</p> |
