PURPOSE:To add an excellent suitability for printing to water base ink by a method wherein a layer containing two kinds of polyvinyl acetal resin having a specific degree of acetalization is provided on a thermal recording layer provided on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer is laminated on at least one side of a substrate, and a layer containing polyvinyl acetal resin (A) with a degree of acetalization of 1-5mol% and polyvinyl acetal resin (B) with a degree of acetalization of 20-60mol% is provided on the thermal recording layer to obtained a thermal recording medium. The thermal recording medium suffices if a protective layer on the thermal recording layer contains the resin A and the resin B, and sufficed by providing an ink absorption layer containing the resin A and the resin B on the protective layer. The thermal recording layer contains colorless or light colored leuco dye and developer as main components, There are crystal violet, lactone, etc., as a concrete example of the leuco dye, and alpha-naphthol or the like as a concrete example of the developer. |
