The invention relates to a facing plate for replacement doors or windows comprising a fixed frame (1) which is mounted on the fixed frame (2) of the pre-existing door or window, the facing plate (6) being fixed onto the said replacement fixed frame (1) and closing off the space (5) on the outside and/or inside between the said replacement frame (1) and the walls (4) of the opening (3) accommodating the door, window or similar element. This facing plate is characterised in that it is able to accommodate, via adjustable connection means (11), a telescopic part (12) which enables its width (14) to be adjusted to the width (15) of the said space (5).
