Cage for roller bearings and a method for its manufacture

Cage for a roller bearing which is free of frictional wear and anomalous noise and can be produced at low cost and mounted easily in the bearing. The cage is produced by bending a metal plate containing pockets into a ring shape, temporarily connecting its ends, heat-treating the ring thus formed to remove stresses, and separation of the temporarily connected region. Such a cage tends to rotate more slowly than the race elements on the input side of the bearing, making it possible to reduce the frictional wear. Such a cage can be used under high-temperature conditions.
