PURPOSE:To increase transportation efficiency by providing an elevator system both with a self-traveling elevator system taking charge of main transportation that is capable of being traveled vertically and horizontally and also capable of serving only principal floors, and with a plurality of rope-type elevator systems as a local transportation means for serving between the principal floors and each individual floor. CONSTITUTION:In a building with 31 stories above and 1 story under the ground, 12 elevating shafts are provided in the vertical direction, and the first and second shafts are provided with first and second self-traveling elevator systems respectively, so that a plurality of cages can be freely traveled in the vertical and horizontal directions; and also lateral passages for moving the cage in the lateral direction (floor direction) are formed in the basement 1 and in the 31st story above the ground. Further, rope-type elevator systems are arranged to the 3rd to 7th shafts and to the 8th to 12th shafts respectively; and a rope-type high-story bank in which cages can be elevated or lowered respectively between the 16th story and 31st story is constituted by the 3rd to the 7th shafts, and a rope-type low-story bank in which cages can be elevated or lowered respectively between the B1 story and the 16th story is constituted by the 8th to the 12th shafts. |
