PURPOSE:To hold stably an oxide superconductor in a superconducting state and enhance the concentration of allowable electric current by installing an extended part of an intermediate connection metal fitting and a superconducting sheath wire to a conductor connection unit between the oxide superconductor and the intermediate connection metal fitting. CONSTITUTION:As a reduction means 11, this current lead comprises an extended part 12 of an intermediate connection metal fitting and an oxide superconducting sheathed wire 13. More specifically, there is provided an oxide superconducting sheathed wire which are electrically connected in parallel so as to envelop the outer periphery of the extended part 12 where the terminal on the intermediate metal fitting side is electrically connected with an intermediate metal fitting 6 in a recessed groove 6D and connected to the outer peripheral surface of the extended unit 12 with solder. Helium gas GHe flows in a cylinder-shaped vessel 7 of a low temperature side lead wire from a communication hole of a low temperature side metal fitting 9 and flow out of a high temperature side lead wire 2 by way of a communication hole 6 of the intermediate metal fitting 6, thereby cooling the oxide superconducting sheathed wire. This cooling operation expands the cooling surface area and facilitate the radiation of the heat having entered the vessel while the oxide superconducting sheathed wire 13 exposed from the surface of the expanded part 12 is cooled, thereby holding a superconducting state. |
