<p>The joint is formed from a flexbile sheet of the material folded along one edge surrounding a pref. deformable cord, the whole being placed in a dove-tailed recess made in the part of the flue where the joint is required, the recess being packed with lead. The cord may be of P.T.F.E. fibres having a density >0.5, pref. >0.8. The sheet may be welded along the fold and treaed with a layer of silicone resin on the inside. The lead used for the joint is pref. an alloy of Pb with a small amount of Sb. The joint is flexible, resistant to temps. up to 250 degrees C, smoke tight and long lasting.</p> |
