The device comprises a swinging plate (1) for powered support which can be retrofitted. The said plate can be coupled to the horizontal skid (3) by way of a hinge mounting (4) and a hinge pin (7). The circular end portions of the hinge pin (7) engage in the slot-like apertures (9) in the hinge links (8). The support resistance at the tip of the skid is transmitted positively via the skid to the swinging plate (1). By virtue of the play allowed in the suspension of the swinging plate (1), it can tilt about the tip of the skid up to a certain variable angle of inclination without causing a load to be imposed on the components, especially the hinge mounting (4) and the hinge pin (7). <IMAGE>
