In a radio alarm system having detector units (21-24) in each case comprising a transmitter (21d-24d) and a central unit (20) having a receiver (20c) which receives radio signals in the form of data messages from the transmitters (21d-24d) of the detector units (21-24), a reliable transmission of the data messages, whilst retaining a simple configuration, is obtained by the fact that the other time intervals of the detector units (21-24) during a simultaneous triggering of their transmitting sequences of data messages are matched to one another in such a manner that at least one data message of each transmitting sequence does not overlap in time with other data messages of the other transmitting sequences triggered at the same time.
