<p>Water is dosed with smaller than stoichiometric amts. of P2O5, in order to effect softening, by using polyphosphate, glasses contg. Na2O-CaO-MgO with a ratio of base: antibase of more than 1.5:1.0 and obtained at fusion temp.s of 1200 degrees C. These glasses may also contain SiO2, and dissolves slowly in the water.</p> |
