Apparatus for automatic pipetting of the type which can be held and operated manually, which operates in relation with any standard pipette made of glass or of plastic for drawing in or delivering a predetermined quantity of liquid. The apparatus comprises a casing (10) endowed with a handle and an adaptor for a pipette (76), an electric motor (42, 44), a peristaltic pump (46, 48, 49, 50) driven by the motor, a pipe (55) bringing the pump into communication with the pipette adaptor, and a means of a control used to actuate the motor and the pump. <IMAGE>
