PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for starting recording and reproducing and the seek time. CONSTITUTION:The optical disk has plural servo areas 1 and plural data areas 8, and track addresses coded in grey on the whole by a pit position encoder is divided into an upper word and a lower word, and they are regarded as access codes 2, and are dispersed and recorded in each servo area 1 in order to make frequency of the access codes 2 in the lower word higher than frequency of the access codes 2 in the upper word. Then, parity information 3 is added to a least significant bit word of the access modes 2 recorded, for instance, at intervals of one segment, and is recorded. Thus, by the parity information 3 recorded at intervals of one segment, errors are corrected at intervals of the one segment so that the accurate track addresses can be obtained. |
