An absorbent adhesive dressing made of synthetic material is made up of three layers, namely a sheet of flexible film (1), with an adhesive face (10) covered by a protective sheet (3), and a sheet of less flexible material (2) which is arranged on the non-adhesive face (11) of the flexible film (1). Each of the lateral edges of the dressing comprises a grip tape (4). The effective surface area of the dressing between the grip tapes (4) is delimited by preliminary cuts (5) crossing the three layers (1), (2), (3). On one side, the layer (2) extends only as far as the preliminary cut (5) and comprises a reinforcement and removal tape (6). Arranged between the protective sheet (3) and the sheet of flexible film (1) is a piece of absorbent material (15) provided with a latticework (16) in such a way as to form an adhesive edge over the whole circumference of the dressing. <IMAGE>
