PURPOSE:To provide a thermal magnetic recording medium which has high productivity and preservability and has a practical strength which does not always need a protective layer, etc., and a method for manufacturing the same. CONSTITUTION:A thermal magnetic recording medium 1 comprises a magnetic recording layer 3 and a thermal recording layer 5 containing metal powder and binder as main ingredients on a support 2, wherein the layer 5 contains a low melting point nonmagnetic metal powder having shape anisotropy. |
