PURPOSE:To prevent a driver from being given a complication by providing a constitution such that a display value of an operating switch, only when operated, is automatically lighted and put out after a fixed time, and performing no lighting when not performed initial setting. CONSTITUTION:A sloping road starting assist device is provided with a control valve 9 for temporarily holding a brake pressure even when released a brake pedal 11 and a program control circuit 10 for generating a control signal in accordance with an output of a clutch sensor 3. An output value of the clutch sensor 3 or its critical value is set by operating switches 23, 24, and this set value is displayed in 7-segment display device 22. After a fixed time from not operating any of the operating switches 23, 24, a display disappears. When the above adjustment setting is once performed, since sloping road starting assist action is performed by the program control circuit 10 based on its preset value, a display content is meaningless. Accordingly, here by putting out the display, lighting is performed only when the display is necessary.
