A concrete vehicle barrier for separating lanes from one another consists of linked-together prefab elements 1, 2 which loosely stand on the road surface. Each element 1 and 2, respectively, has a recess on both ends. The recesses of successive linked elements are situated alternately at the top and bottom, or above and below a projecting part 3 and 4, respectively. Each recess of an element is filled by a projecting part of a subsequent element linked to said element. At the point of each linkage, one of the projecting parts 3 has substantially vertical steel sections 8 which are inserted into steel sleeves 10 of the other projecting part 4. <IMAGE>
