There is a requirement for power circuit breakers by means of which a domestic appliance can be switched on and off conveniently. To this end, the new power circuit breaker has the feature that the power circuit breaker (5) is switched on via an electronic circuit (6), by means of a push button switch (momentary contact switch) (8) which is connected to the power circuit breaker (5) and/or to the electronic circuit (6) via a flexible electrical lead (7), and is switched off via a time switch (9) which is integrated in the power circuit breaker (5) and/or in the electronic circuit (6). Use of the power circuit breaker according to the invention makes it possible to operate domestic appliances in an energy-saving manner, an extension in the life of the appliances being achieved overall as a result of them being turned off. <IMAGE>
