initializing the tone step count if the ring signal is received; examining the ring if the duration time of the current ring cycle state and corresponding ring cycle state laps the fixed cycle period; turning on the ring as the tone data corresponding to the tone level count if the current is at an OFF state and the ring-off time lapses the fixed off cycle period; increasing the tone level count to the next level after performing the ring-on step and then returning to the ring examining step; a turning off the ring if it is determined that the current ring is at the ON state and the ring-on time lapses the fixed ring-on cycle period; and examining the call responce if the hook is on or off, and returning to the ring examining step if it is determined that the hook is at the ON state, or going to the call state if the hook is determined to be at the OFF state.
