The transmission through the coler liquid crystal display is improved by forming grooves or holes of a shape of a polygon or a circle at a regular spacing on one side of a glass substrate. The display is manufactured by forming the grooves(6) or the holes(10), forming the color filters(11) in the grooves or the holes, and forming indium tin oxide pattern(8), and a layer of polyamide(13).
