PURPOSE:To provide a discharge lamp lighting device capable of reducing a noise during lighting a high pressure discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:An inductance element 78 is connected in series to a discharge lamp 48. Here in the inductance element 78, an element, having inductance smaller than inductance of a secondary winding n2 of a pulse transformer 62, is used. When a discharge of the discharge lamp 48 is started, a high voltage pulse generated in the secondary winding n2 of the pulse transformer 62 is applied to the discharge lamp 48 through the inductance element 78, and when the discharge lamp 48 is lighted, rectangular wave voltage generated in an inverter circuit part 20 is applied to the discharge lamp 48 and the inductance element 78. |
