PURPOSE: To provide a laminar substrate for a photosensitive material with an anti-roll layer on the back side. CONSTITUTION: This laminar substrate for a photosensitive material has an anti-roll layer consisting essentially of gelatin and a hardening agent on the rear side. The gelatin is fermented and degraded pure bone gelatin. The anti-roll layer has no sensitivity to mechanical load (scratch resistance) and low water absorbing property (water resistance) and fogging is suppressed.
