<p>PURPOSE:To allow one exchange to cope with both voice communication such as telephone communication and inter-computer communication by identifying whether or not a connection to which a received cell belongs requires warrant of the service by an identification means and checking a parameter at setup only when the warrant of the service is required. CONSTITUTION:When a valid cell is inputted to an exchange 1, a data identification means 11 references a VPI/VCI of an input cell to identify a connection to which the input cell belongs. A table connecting to the data identification means 11 is referenced based on the identified connection and whether the connection is a connection requiring warrant of QOS for communication such as real time communication for telephone voice communication/facsimile communication or a connection not requiring warrant of the QOS such as computer communication is identified. When the warrant of the QOS is required, the input cell is transferred to a policing means 12 and a parameter at setup is checked.</p> |
