The invention relates to a folding garage for motor vehicles, which permits good alignment to be achieved when driving in and makes it possible to get in and out of the car without obstruction. The folding garage according to the invention comprises a telescopic tube which is mounted, by means of its main tube, on fixed supports, in the manner of a roof ridge, and on whose sub-tubes there are located brackets which support an outer skin or retain such an outer skin. In the folded-out state, the telescopic tube projects beyond the fixed supports approximately over the length of the vehicle, the outer skin being tensioned and being supported by the brackets. The folding garage according to the invention takes up a small amount of space and is convenient to use.
