The yarns are subjected to a similar second stage treatment by tensioner 38 and roller 36. A roller 28 oils the yarn prior to treatment, while a second roller 40 oils the yarn for knitting. The apparatus is mounted on a free-standing creel, from which the yarn is withdrawn by a tape and cylinder drive on the machine. If the machine drive is stopped due to a fault the threads are disengaged from the rollers by rods 54, 56.
