A pneumatic sensor for measuring intracranial pressure has a flat plastic body (1) with a circular chamber (6) which is sealed by a rubber membrane (5). Compressed air is admitted into the chamber (6) via a hole in the base of the chamber (6) and escapes into the atmosphere via an opening piece and a gap (7) formed between the opening piece (3) and the rubber membrane (5). The rubber membrane (5) positions itself at a point where the pressure built up in the chamber (6) by means of the admitted compressed air corresponds to the intracranial pressure acting from outside on the rubber membrane (5).
