In order to enable the propeller blades in a self-adjusting propeller to be adjusted both under the influence of and as a function of the shaft torque for optimising the propeller as a unit as well as to obtain an adjustment of each individual propeller blade as a function of its oncoming flow of the acute wake zone present in its area and of the oblique oncoming flow, adjusting springs (4) are operatively connected on the one hand to the propeller shaft and on the other hand to the propeller blades, and the propeller blades are adjusted by the bending line of the adjusting springs (4). To this end, an adjusting spring (4) is mounted for each propeller blade on the one hand in a recess or flange of an inner hub (1) firmly connected to the propeller shaft and on the other hand in the blade stems (8) pivotably mounted in an outer hub (2), and the outer hub (2) is rotatably mounted relative to the inner hub (1) in the area of the bending line of the adjusting spring (4). <IMAGE>
