[Also in Division C2] Polymers are stabilized by adding a novel piperidine-spiro-oxirane derivative of the formula wherein R 1 is hydrogen or a (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl radical and R 2 is a (C 1 -C 8 ) alkyl radical, or a salt thereof. The stabilized polymeric composition preferably contains from 0À01% to 5À0% by weight of said compound based on the weight of the polymer. Examples describe the stabilization of polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, polyurethane, P.V.C. and ABS copolymer. |
