PURPOSE:To provide a label forming printer wherein several items of information on tape width or color relating to a tape cassette mounted in the printer can be easily recognized by a data forming device arranged on the main body. CONSTITUTION:In relation with a printing tape in a tape housing cassette mounted in a printing mechanism of a printer 6, several items of cassette information on tape width, color and type are detected by a tape width sensor 60, a tape color sensor 61, and a type sensor 62 and are transferred to a data forming device 2 through communicating interfaces 37 and 58. The contents of the cassette information are displayed on a CRT display 3 of the data forming device 2. By the displayed contents, the tape width, color and type of the printing tape in the tape housing cassette can be confirmed at the data forming device 2. |
